VW Improves ID.4 Power, Technology & EV Performance for 2024

Volkswagen has announced its plan for the 2024 ID.4, previewing more power, technology, and EV capability. Significant changes in the new ID.4 come in the form of new infotainment screens, trim levels, and a new performance drive unit for more overall power. 2024 ID.4 Trim Levels & Updates

The 2024 ID.4 will be available in three trim levels, Standard/Pro, S and S Plus. The most significant arrive in the larger 82 kWh battery ID.4 model. A new performance drive unit that should improve EV performance and overall power. This battery can be paired with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, outputting an impressive 282 horsepower (RWD) and 330 horsepower respectively (AWD). Models with standard all-wheel drive receive 20-inch aluminum wheels, while the range-topping S-Plus ID.4 receives 21-inch machined alloy wheels.

On the inside, ID.4 models with the larger battery receive an enhanced 12.9-inch display with backlit sliders, as a new and more intuitive climate control interface and a refined infotainment display. Other models receive the standard 12-inch display with the same new designs and wireless connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, the ID.4 receives a new shifter position and a revised steering wheel layout and Premium Harman/Kardon audio system with nine speakers.

More EV Capability

Although official EPA ratings have yet to be released, Volkswagen has high hopes for the soon-releasing 2024 ID.4. The improved performance drive unit is set to improve overall driving range and performance from the 2023 ID.4 that offered drivers 107 MPGe and 209 miles of total driving range. 

2024 ID.4 Release Date & Price
